3 months warranty and hot melt welding! A piece of garbage in the truest sense of the word.

I bought this turntable despite the bad reviews because I didn't give it to kids and I didn't want it to break if I didn't do anything to it. Right? NOT RIGHT. The CD Play states it was made in September 2016. I bought it in November 2016. He died on June 15, 2017! It was a total lifespan of 9 to 10 months. I was listening to the radio and the sound was gone. I thought the radio would stop working, but it quickly became apparent that it was not receiving power. Since it has never been dropped and is less than a year old I called the manufacturer. The Jensen representative told me that the full warranty is only 3 months. Have I tried batteries? After 3 months you have to pay $20 so they can at least look at it and maybe replace or fix it. The CD player is only $24, so it's a good deal for them. She was willing to send me a new cable if that was the problem. I received the cable today and it was no problem. The problem is a very bad production. No longer worried about voiding a worthless warranty, I took the CD player apart and saw why it was so cheap to buy and build. Most of the interior parts look like they fell out of the back of a truck. They are worn and poorly finished. Instead of welding wires, they used hot glue. (To make it easier, when, not when, does it break?) I'd say it was some sort of industrial "specialty glue", but if it looks, smells, and acts like hot glue, then it probably is. and eat. It even has little threads of glue between the sights. (See images.) Thin cardboard is used in at least three places to hold parts in place. There are some welds on the motherboard, but it's one of the worst I've seen and it's patchy. Not surprising anymore that it broke within 10 months of manufacture. I'm shocked he's lived this long. Even sitting on my desk must have been stressful for him. I suggest that you do not waste your time, desk space, or money on these articles. If you bought it and it's still working, it's only a matter of time.
