Review on Solo G3 2TB: The Ultimate Fireproof and Waterproof External Hard Drive Solution by Grant Nordstrom

I only got it a few days ago but it seems to be exactly what I was looking for. It's big, not huge, but quite large for a 2TB hard drive. Which is the case with this product gives you peace of mind. It's heavy and durable, and it's easy to believe it will survive a fire or flood. I hope I never find out. It's quiet, never makes a sound. It comes with a screw mount, I can screw it to the floor if I want to, which I probably will soon. Connected directly to my iMac. Nothing fancy, no compatibility issues, boom, my Time Machine dive couldn't be easier. The simplest drive ever comes with one year of drive recovery protection. Of course they try to sell you more and I went for it. $50 gives you 3 years, $100 gives you 5 years. If your drive fails and you don't have protection it can easily cost over $1000 so I figured it was a bargain and I don't typically buy an extended maintenance plan. Buying a new drive in a few years is one thing... the ability to recover important data after a disaster is priceless. I've had various issues with different drives I've tried setting up with Time Machine. Shouldn't, but I have. NO PROBLEMS with this drive at all, the easiest drive I've ever used. And the certainty that it's safe, I can't even describe what it's like. I live in Southern California and someday we're going to have a terrible earthquake. My computer may catch fire, but I can buy a new one. But my data is safe.
