I took the hard drive out of its case (out of warranty anyway) and hooked it up to multiple computers with a few cables, connectors, and software. Neither of them could read it. Just received this backup drive, it was packaged very well, the drive was mostly encased in thick black PE foam for shipping. Installation couldn't have been simpler, I just plugged everything in, flicked the power switch and the drive was recognized on our data server. This is some serious gear; fifteen pound case with a very durable USB 3.0 cable. It's also completely silent; I look forward to never hearing MyBook chatting in my office again.
