I bought four of these dresses for my wedding. Sizes 2, 4, 6 and 8. Size 2: 6 inches longer for a large 18 month old 18-24 m, 6 inches shorter for a 3 year old in 3T. Wrap both around your chest. Size 4: 2 inches larger **A 5-year-old** wearing a 5T will need significant hemming to fit the 3-year-old it was purchased for. Size 6: Huge. Just huge. But I can't confirm for sure it was supposed to be number 6 because this dress didn't have a label attached or sewn into the dress. It's just a random oversized dress that wasn't marked a 2, 4 or 8 so I just assumed it was a 6. Who knows? Size 8: Suitable for a tall 7 year old girl who wears a 7 almost perfectly. I don't really understand this and obviously the sizes don't match. With all this craziness, the bodice of the dresses is gorgeous and very economical in size. They tie well when loose and stretch a bit when tight. So the length is the biggest sizing issue and other than that the dresses are beautiful. However, with the 4 dresses it's pretty obvious that they aren't from the same manufacturer as they have different thread colors that don't go together! I can't decide if this bothers me enough to choose another dress, but it's VERY annoying, especially for the price. So, great dress, if you only buy one, you don't need the right ones and you're ready to change its length to fit.
