Marker Tape + Label Tape = Organizing Bliss
Some people use label making machines but I prefer label tape and markers, I find it faster and easier and you don't have to peel off the backing (and of course it's cheaper). It's better than masking tape because it stays in place longer (masking tape dries out over time), peels off smoothly (masking tape sometimes leaves a mark), and provides a bright white background for the label (unlike beige masking tape). Otherwise it's almost the same consistency. It's labeled for audio/video use, but I use it for general household labeling.
