I bought a desk for my home office in March (after the house ban regulation went into effect) and found that the smell from the desk was irritating my respiratory system and giving me a headache. and dizziness. My husband didn't care at all (he didn't spend that much time there either) so I continued to ignore the "symptoms". Two of my plants in the same room died within a few weeks, so I started researching and found out that formaldehyde could be the culprit. The first test kit I ordered had a punctured barrel and the powder had leaked into the box leaving nothing to use. I tried anyway and the results were normal but I wasn't sure. When they contacted Air Steward they immediately sent me another set with the bottle intact. The results of this test kit are attached and I have included a comparison to show the photo shows the color difference. Air Steward and their support team are really impressed! I call the company I reserved a table with. See if they take it back and definitely take the Prop 65 warnings more seriously when purchasing additional items for the home. I don't know what damage was caused by exposure to such levels of formaldehyde, but I hope this review will also warn others about the harmful effects of chemically treated furniture.
