Review on 📀 Magnavox BDP170MW8 DVD Player: Enhanced HDMI Connectivity and 1080p Upconversion by Anferny Pineda

Tested on Samsung Plasma TV 5054 720P via HDMI cable in 720P and 1080I mode. The picture from the car was crisp with excellent colors. The HDMI cable transmits two-channel audio from the player to the TV. The player has a "blacker than black" selection in the MODE on the remote control; This control also invokes a two-level virtual surround mode if required. The device only decodes 5.1 Dolby Digital audio via the coaxial output. Sound quality, picture quality, tone and bass were excellent for this price range. The device can be used as a digital CD drive due to its sound quality. Appears to be well built; quiet, small and unobtrusive. The remote control is nothing special, but sufficient. Menu access is ok. You have to appreciate DVD with every HDTV on the market.
