Can't beat the price. There were no problems with this player, for an affordable price, the quality of the picture and sound is excellent.

No LCD on the front of the unit. The picture quality is pretty good for the price. Cheap touch remote control, small buttons. I have an HDMI cable so it's worth the $49 I paid. I just hope it lasts a year.

I got what I paid for. It was on sale at Walmart in December 2007 and I bought it for $30. I overpaid as it only lasted until April 11, 2008. The video is gone. Even before that, the video quality was decent, but not as good as others I've compared to. Next time I won't buy my electronics from Walmart because everything I bought there won't last very long. Learn the hard way here in South Dakota.

Excellent picture quality with reference quality DVDs. Blu-ray player on a 47 inch HD LCD TV. Highly recommended if you have a large DVD collection. Do not convert to Blu-ray players and Blu-ray discs unless you have a 720 or 1080P DLP projector with a screen size of 84 inches or larger. Here there is a significant difference in image quality when using Blu-ray. I deducted a point. because it does not encode DTS audio.

Tested on Samsung Plasma TV 5054 720P via HDMI cable in 720P and 1080I mode. The picture from the car was crisp with excellent colors. The HDMI cable transmits two-channel audio from the player to the TV. The player has a "blacker than black" selection in the MODE on the remote control; This control also invokes a two-level virtual surround mode if required.
