Review on HHIP 2006 9172 Speed Adjustable Reamer by Chef Deane

The purpose of an adjustable reamer is to be able to set it to a specific diameter. I wanted to achieve a diameter of .3058. When I tried to adjust it by loosening one nut and tightening the other, nothing moved. There were burrs on the grooves. I carefully removed one cutting blade at a time, used a small rock to remove burrs from the slots and blades, and cleaned everything thoroughly. This took about an hour and a half. Once again I tried setting the sweep to .3058. When I loosened one nut and tightened the other, I found a 0.003 difference between the blades. I don't have the equipment to regrind the reamer to the correct diameter so it took me an hour and a half plus the cost of the reamer.
