Great shelf for the price. Here are some tips.

Bought this 3 bike bike rack for my 2012 Prius V (larger hatchback). Revain says it doesn't fit, but it does according to Allen's Fit Guide on their website and is confirmed by actual use. He made several trips along the California coast with no problems, from freeways at over 70 mph to city traffic and winding mountain roads. The car is very difficult to moor, so bring a buddy to help you hold and buckle up. Here are some quick tips I got from others who have worked for me: 1) Wrap the metal belt clips in duct tape or place pieces of rubber casing between the clip and the car. Serves two purposes: protects your paintwork from scratches and helps attach clips to your car. 2) Use elastic cords to attach your bike(s) to the rack to prevent wheel spin. More bungee cords won't hurt anyone. 3) Alternate your bikes on the carrier. I saw people getting on their bikes in the same direction. If you alternate them (one bike facing one direction, the next bike facing the other), the bikes will fit together better and distribute weight evenly across the rack. That. Once the bikes are in place, you'll need to pull these straps a little more as the extra weight changes the distribution and forces on the rack. Have your friend lift the trunk/bikes while you tighten. Then you can carefully remove the extra straps any way you like. I wrap the excess around the straps, then tuck the last three inches back inside myself 5) IF YOU HAVE GOOD PAINT: Often after long rides, remove the brace and clean between pads. Living in a dry and dusty California climate, I've learned the hard way that if you leave your trunk on for long periods of time, dirt and grime will get in and scratch or stain your paintwork and/or bumper. It's not that bad on my machine, but it's definitely noticeable. These tips will help you enjoy your bike racks. If you have any other tips, I'd love to hear them!
