There are definitely good and bad points to these
Internal threads aren't of much use if the mating alignment crushes the skin between the components as they're fastened. It might be worth considering that the flange runs further down the threads so it doesn't pinch the flesh when trying to twist it together when inserting it into the ear. The torch is also much larger than a typical double torch and as such can present a problem in sliding without detaching the parts.
