Works like a charm! My 60 lb dog loves to ride horses but I was afraid that if we were ever in an accident he would fly through the windshield. I'm not saying it's strong enough to prevent this, but in my dog's case it's a better alternative than using a shoulder/lap belt in the back seat and threading it through the harness. he hates it and it keeps him from moving at all. This pet harness gives him enough space to stand on the back seat and put his front legs on the console at will. I have an older car and the seat belts don't look like it, but they work great on my Kia. It feels solid and I easily attach it to my dog's harness. The only way to improve it is to test its strength and make sure its parts actually survive the impact. I bought a dog leash, which was expensive but guaranteed not to break under a certain tension. The hardware on the guaranteed dog leash is very durable. I would say that this is a medium performance device. I just hope it's never tested for "brittleness".
