My little girl weighs no more than 8 pounds. Finding a good e-collar for her was a challenge! However, it fit the bill. She could drink water, lie comfortably, and still not reach the incision. Her surgery consisted of removing the spleen with a mass (if it would help at the incision site). I tried another, inflatable one, supposedly for her neck, but it was too big and bulky and kept moving. I love that it doesn't have a clasp that could cause her forefoot to slip off and get stuck (like the first try which happened but luckily I was here). The only thing I don't like is the strap. for tightening is a pull with a clamp for tightening. I've always been very careful about leaving it a little more than 2 fingers loose and threading it between the back of my head and the collar, afraid it might somehow catch on something. although it's probably because I'm being too careful mom. :) All in all it was a great purchase. I love that it's non-inflatable and pretty easy to wash in a garment bag on gentle cycle (let air dry).
