Review on Musical Fidelity V90 LPS Phono Preamp by Nate Skinner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I think I could save $1000 by going with the V90-LPS. Great phono stage at a bargain price!

I first ordered it from Revain "Express Music Instruments". My order never arrived (terrible delivery service from this seller). After a long phone call to Revain support I got my money back. A few days later, I saw that my local hi-fi store was selling the same product at an even better price (and no shipping), so I bought it there. Aside from the initial buying experience, my review is dedicated to this phono stage. Simply put, it's the perfect combination of my Pro-ject RPM1 Carbon (with Nagaoka MP200 cartridge) and the Musical Fidelity A3 integrated amplifier. The first thing that strikes me is a wonderful 3D soundstage, more weighted mids and lows, and a nice high-end coming from my B&W CDM 1NT speaker. Compared to the previous phono preamp (ART DJ Pre II), the V90-LPS simply sounds more analog, softer and more spatial. Can't wait to hear when I get the updated power supply.

This is a significant upgrade to built in amp preamp (and also phono amp in turntable)
