Here is my mediocre experience with the Petzilla Breeder Box after 4 months. - The suction cups often detach from the glass (other manufacturers have never had this). This results in the juveniles running away to the main tank and the adult fish coming into the box and feasting on the juveniles. And no, I didn't have a lid. Maybe it would have prevented it, maybe not. The lid sticks. Great pain when feeding. It's difficult to remove the cap without sticking your fingers in the tank and unscrewing it. Holes that make it difficult to push food through. You can do it, you need a good aim. Used without case. - 3 "closed" angle tubes allow the roast to rest on it. It's good if the water level doesn't get too low. Sometimes my fry got stuck in the pipes, turned into a fish that was pulled out of the water, and didn't survive. An open corner pipe was used for ventilation. I chose not to connect the air supply to allow the fish to swim into the tube. It's ok if the water level is above the lip, but if it drops the juvenile fish will get stuck in the pipe and may suffocate like I did. In addition, food and dirt accumulate in this tube. The tabs connecting the top and bottom halves are VERY difficult to open. In fact, it takes the tip of a knife to separate the tongue, and it takes a lot of agitation to separate the top and bottom halves. Ironically, one of the tabs had recently broken from thumb pressure, not the knife.
