Try something else good for fish and aquatic life

Made of cheap plastic, broke when I tightened the suction cups. I could still use it, so I did. After 2 hours all the eggs I put in were gone. Whether it fell into the net or was eaten through, I can't tell you. But still not a very good result.

  • Sleek design

Not for ADF tadpoles!

I should have done more research before buying. I bought it with the intention of breeding African dwarf frog tadpoles in it in the same aquarium as the "parents". Almost every tadpole crawled through the net after hatching and ended up in the main aquarium, where they were immediately eaten by their parents. I do not recommend for growing ADF tadpoles!

Worse than bad product

I strongly encourage you to keep looking for another product. This breeding cage is so poorly constructed that it fell apart when I was holding the fish in it. So either be prepared to lose your fish or superglue the stems together. Hope the super glue fixes the problem. But no one should glue a product together to make it do what it's supposed to do.

Great for injured fish

NOTE: I use this for injured fish, not fry. My big goldfish. It lets tiny bubbles of oxygen through, which I probably had with my previous see-through frying container. Even larger fish (6 inches) don't bother him. The suction power is excellent, even when larger fish brush against it while swimming.

Mesh sizes are VERY large

I installed a birthing pool with no filter, but the need to monitor and maintain water quality was becoming increasingly difficult. I figured I could use this breeding box to put the youngsters in my regular tank so I don't have to keep a separate tank. I put the incubator in my aquarium, then I put my young fish in the incubator. Well, all the juveniles escaped through the mesh holes and were either eaten or sucked into the filter. Working hours and spawning days are wasted! The holes are just

Decent product in the fish and aquatic animals category

Relatively easy to assemble. It's a little flimsy, but I expected it for a budget fryer. The only thing that confuses me is that the trellis at the bottom of the frame cracked and I lost some fry (fry angelfish) because they got stuck in that gap and wouldn't come out and died. I tried to increase the distance but couldn't. Also, as expected, the shrimp I feed my fry seep right through the mesh. We ended up switching to a different slotted plastic container and I feel it works better.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities

  • Not sure

Great way to interrupt fish

One of my fish was becoming overly hyper aggressive towards others in the tank so I had to separate him until I had time to set the tank up for him to avoid carnage. It's not easy in winter because the tanks need heating and December is so hectic that I don't have time to install the main tank before the holidays are over. It's a great way to keep him in the original heated pH adjusted water he's used to until I have time to give him his due. . They slowly approach his new penthouse area, thenโ€ฆ

Keep searching. on spawning tank

I had a hard plastic spawning tank that my previous fry came from. In this case I hoped this breeder would be better. Right from the start: the frame is plastic and has additional injection molded plastic around the post assembly. It took a bit more strength to assemble the frame, which ended up breaking the very cheap square frame. It wasn't the worst, but I wasn't a fan. The breeder was still usable, only one part was partially broken. The suction cups were ok and I had no complaints aboutโ€ฆ
