Review on AVANTEK Mini Waterproof Wireless Doorbell Chime - Operating at 1000 Feet with 52 Melodies, 5 Volume Levels & LED Flash by Joseph Campbell

I did a lot of research before I decided on this doorbell. It is very easy to install and 2 chimes is just what I needed to replace my old 13 year old doorbell. My problem was that my house has one story but is 80 feet long. When I'm in the back office, I don't usually hear the doorbell ringing. So I placed one near the front of the house where my bedroom is and the other in the middle covering the back of the house. About 50 feet from my house, the signal only goes through drywall. I finally settled on level 3 of calls 1-5. Level 3 is quite loud. This doorbell solved 2 of the most common criticisms mentioned in many different doorbell reviews I've read. [1] The size of the "mini" bell has been reduced so that when plugged into a two-socket connector it does not cover the second connector either. AND [2] The selected volume and ringtone remain set when the device is switched off or if you change the ringtone to another location. That means you don't have to go through 50+ ringtones from scratch to reset them to the one you want when the power goes out. It also simplifies the programming of these calls. I plugged it into a socket above the kitchen shelf to select the volume and ringer from a comfortable standing position, then unplugged it and plugged into a socket near the floor where I wanted it. The settings remain. Using double sided tape was more than enough to install the knob on the outside of my door. Screws are not required. The only complaint I have is when you open the doorbell button to pull out the plastic disconnect tab to allow the battery to make contact for the doorbell to work. The battery cover was very tight, the plastic tab was difficult to pull out. I hope that in a few years when I change the battery I can easily remove the battery cover. A little tightening would be an important improvement. I could also be happy with just 4 or 5 ringtone options instead of 50+, which I can't imagine. Overall I think they have solved the most common complaints about other doorbells and this is now the best doorbell ever.
