Bug w/2.4Ghz band-doorbell rings randomly by itself

I owned a previous version of this item for many years and it worked without a hitch. When I bought my recent replacement, everything seemed the same. Installation is easy and when it works it works just fine, but from what I can gather, please be aware, there is some type of bug that causes this doorbell to ring randomly and uncontrollably. I've had to unplug mine as it rings all day, randomly, without someone pushing the button. I tried various outlets in my house to no avail. My guess is…

I use this for my classroom. It lasted only one school year. :-(

I loved my doorbell at first. 4 other teachers bought them as well.Mine stopped working this week. The doorbell still lights up but it doesn't make noise anymore. It started crackling when I would push the button then stopped all together.I'm so disappointed for how much they cost. I got yellow to go with my bee theme. 😭😭

Simple doorbell/attention getter

I recently purchased a second one to use in my elementary classroom for an attention getter (lost my first one). It's simple to use, as you just plug it in and go. I didn't tell my class about it at first and for the first week and half no one knew what it was. Two students even opened the classroom door and looked for an actual doorbell lol. We all got a chuckle out that and I showed/told them what it was after that.

Exactly what I needed

As a preschool teacher with many nonverbal kiddos, I bought this as a means for them to communicate for potty training. I have the button by the door and the receiver at the opposite end of the room. Volume works great, I wish the other ringtones would stay when I set them. But the default isn’t too bad.

This is a great doorbell for ‘any’ place you may need one! Garage door, patio door even front door if you don’t have one there.The chime can be adjusted and the total kit isextremely easy to install.

Great product! Besides its attractive form, this doorbell works perfectly. Other reviews note that you have to go through the entire selection of ringtones if you wish to use a tone you've already passed over. I don't see that as a negative. When you sit down to establish your ringtone, write down a quick list as you listen to the selections regarding which tones you like. Great portable doorbell

This portable, wireless doorbell is easy to install and has a number of ringtones to choose from as well as volume control. I like the color choices and chose black to stand out better against my siding. I can see this working for apartments as well. Highly recommend if you need a doorbell that is not hardwired and don't want to invest in more expensive options.

If you have a larger house and don't want to shout to have your kids come to dinner etc, this is the best solution! We put it upstairs, set our expectations when the kiddos hear it and boom, no more shouting up the stairs!

It’s awful best in my review

I just got it today and I’m still skeptical on it. So far it’s been working but it goes off randomly by itself for no reason. No one’s ringing the bell, and it’s just going off randomly which I don’t like much. I unplugged it and never want to use it again.

Best Classroom attention getter

I use this to get the kiddos attention without having to utter a peep. In my afternoon class when the playtime begins and they just want to have fun, but the noise level gets louder than a jet plane, i just push the bell and all’s quiet once again. Works like a charm.

Works at a distance, even through a wall

So far, it is great. It was easy to install on a fencepost outside. It works over 300ft away, through a wall. It has a couple of simple chimes, and then a whole selection of goofy music, including Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I recommend this product. Good but difficult to set chime

Good doorbell for the price. Easy to install, loud enough. But one complaint. The type of chime/tone is difficult to set. You have to press the button until it's on the one you want. Then, press both the chime and volume buttons at the same time and the unit chirps. Great solution for old farmhouse

We live in an 1860s farmhouse, where adding extra wired-in things involves lots of difficult retrofitting. With no existing wiring for a doorbell, we got this doorbell, & installing it was a snap. Directions for programming the chime were a bit confusing, but after a few tries we got the chime we wanted. Great Customer Support!

Really easy to install and works long distances which was one of the most important things when we were purchasing a doorbell. They are nice and simple and work well. We only had one issue but SadoTech fixed it right away. Context: We live in California and there were a handful of really stormy/windy nights in January around 70-90 mph.
