Melissa & Doug is one of the best companies philosophically, politically and philanthropically, but many of their products seem to be of average quality. We've had pianos with loose screws, tape players with improperly drilled holes, etc. BUT the puzzles are well done. These are large (5" x 5") pieces of thick cardboard. They're big so we collected a few in our living room beforehand and just gave them to dogs and cats to walk on, we've walked on them and they're still in great shape. gave us the opportunity to discuss what extinction means 4 years ago and now she is interested in protecting native endangered species.
