Review on U Turn Audio Turntable Built Preamp by Dee Fadaifar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good sound. Easy setup. happy customer

A big music lover is about to buy his first turntable. I really just wanted something that sounds good (and can play loud enough to jam) until I decide if I want to do it as a hobby. I did a lot of research before making this purchase (because to be honest I don't know much about it - I grew up with cassettes and CDs). I found I was looking for a simple table top with a built in preamp for direct speaker connection (with the option to add an external amplifier to my system in the future). I base most of my online purchases. I ignored the reviews and settled on the $100 LP60 Audio Turntable due to its popularity and low price. But very cheaply made. It sounded like chipmunks - the speed switch didn't work (you get what you pay for). So I sent it back for a full refund. I spent about another 6 months looking at the spreadsheets and realized I needed to increase my budget. Without breaking the bank, I was looking for the next level (tables around $300). I found this table and while there were few reviews compared to the Audio-Technica 120 and it's a bit more expensive than the competition, I liked what I read. During my research I found: - This version has an upgraded platter - Integrated preamp - All parts can be swapped/upgraded as needed - Made in the USA / great customer service - No bad reviews (none under 4 stars) Final trigger for me was the many owners said it is better than the "intro player". So I dropped the extra $70 for a total of $370. And I am very happy with my purchase! Easy to assemble (4 step instructions), the pen is already on the arm so there is no risk of damaging it and I could tell straight away that it was of much better quality than the last one I bought. And it looks great too (sorry I don't have a photo). It's only been a few days but so far I'm very happy with my purchase. The sound is great and very easy to use. The only downside of this table is that it doesn't stop when the recording ends. But I'm happy to accept that for good sound quality. If you're in the same boat as me, spend the extra money and buy this table, you won't be disappointed.
