Review on ☕ Kicking Horse Coffee Three Sisters: 2.2lb Medium Roast Organic Fairtrade Whole Bean - Kosher Certified by Raymundo Miller

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Three sisters, one horrible cup of coffee Joe

It was one of the worst coffees I've ever tasted. I'm a coffee connoisseur with different brewing methods, a good coffee grinder etc. I was looking for a more versatile, affordable everyday coffee. I understand that not all coffees work well with all brewing methods. I've really tried trying it out, using different grinds and brewing techniques from drip to pourover to press, but there's just no way to get a decent coffee. Mixing light, medium, and dark roast beans will not result in a medium roast on average. Dark roasted beans tend to introduce overpowering (over) roasted notes that become the dominant flavor profile. If you like a bad dark roast this might be for you, but if you're looking for a medium roast, don't try this one. I've made an effort to do that too and will be giving a separate review for the smart ass version of this coffee (apparently I can't write a separate review for each roast, so this applies to both). The only thing he has compared to the three sisters is that it's less bad. That's the best I can say. Smart Ass can be used to make a tasty but boring drink, but it's subdued and boring. This is one mechanism of caffeine absorption, but not a very pleasant one.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Big and bulky
