worked fine until my batteries melted

I had batteries in it to use as a backup in case the power goes out during a storm. One day I picked it up in the dust and noticed the batteries inside had melted so it was quite a mess. To be honest I don't know if it was a radio error or bad batteries. I had no issues with the other batteries that came out of the box but felt I should add this just in case for the review.
