The Delta RP28599 is an attractive, small and lightweight showerhead that doesn't adjust or draw attention like some large adjustable showerheads do. All holes are the same size and about 1/32 inch in diameter. Pencil-thin jets of water are comfortable at 45 to 55 psi of water pressure and don't feel like needles trying to penetrate your skin. The shower head has a standard swivel range. This shower head provides a "cold" shower. Small diameter jets of water cool very quickly when they reach and flow over your body. Also, the 2.5 GPM flow rate and minimal water spread doesn't provide full coverage. The holes in the shower head are within a 2 inch diameter circle. At 12 inches from the shower head the water is 4 inches in diameter, 5 inches at 20 inches and 7 inches at 30 inches from the shower head. You won't get full coverage of your entire body with this minimal spread. Scatter measurements are easy to make because the trajectory is virtually unchanged and individual beam scatter is minimal during the first 20 to 30 inches of travel. Raising the water temperature to lukewarm water does little to the lower half of your body and burns your shoulders. I did not remove any flow restrictors, if any. I suspect the flow is already off scale in the normal range in size and number of holes. Simply increasing the amount of water available to the head by removing the restrictor will likely do little without increasing the water pressure. Unfortunately, changing the flow and pressure does not change the narrow distribution of the water. Delta advertises this nozzle as "push-to-clean". If you look closely at the picture of the nozzle, the holes are actually in small rubber tips. In the lab I'm sure you can bend the tips with your fingers to remove the restriction. If your water has a high concentration of minerals and/or solids in the real world, I'm not sure how long it will take for minerals to build up that cannot be easily removed. Clean the tips with your fingers while the water jet sprays water in all directions. "Cold" showers may not be a problem as long as you or Mother Nature keep the bathroom warm. The concentrated spray easily rinses shampoo out of hair and body soap without wasting water splashing on the shower walls. As I have a showerhead I will be using it for a while to see if I become a fan but plan on keeping the Speakman S2252 in my Revain wagon. Updated 01/25/18. Out of curiosity, I tried removing the flow restrictor. The first picture shows a gray plastic waste bin, Delta part number RP43621. This distributor can be easily unscrewed from the fitting. Once the waste collector is removed, the green flow restrictor is visible and is held in place by a steel ring with friction fit locking tabs around the perimeter. I couldn't get the ring off and didn't want to break in. Please note: in the picture, the bars are facing you. . My guess is that dirt and minerals settle in the standing water and build up in the shower head over time. The spray pattern is too narrow to ensure full body coverage, the water jets and water droplets are too small to maintain temperature, and the flow restrictor is not designed to be easily removed. I replaced this showerhead with a Delta 75559, which is exclusive to Home Depot. However, Delta 75569 appears to be the same head with a different arrangement of the same spray nozzles. Warning, do not trust delta images of water flow from H2Okinetic jets. The image of a vortex would contradict the laws of physics. These jets create a chaotic flow similar to that shown in the lower right corner of their image. Delta must be confused.
