Transcend's card reader works as advertised when using a USB 3 connection. Faster write speeds SD cards give the best results. With older maps, however, the loading time may be slightly shorter. In addition, when downloading to a hard drive, Transcend's SSD will match and even exceed the maximum download speeds of SD cards. WARNING. Transcend's memory card reader gets noticeably hot/hot when transferring large amounts of data (12+ GB). It is not a fire hazard but is noticeable when not expected. This happens with all three Transcend USB3.0 card readers that I own. If the card reader gets very hot, complete the transfer, then disconnect the card reader from the computer and also remove the SD card from the card reader. Wait a few minutes to cool down before continuing to use. The Transcend USB 3.0 memory card reader had no problems with Windows 10 or other USB ports on small to medium sized laptops. There may be faster card readers out there, but I doubt you'll find one at this price point. I will buy again.
