Review on πŸ“Έ The Ultimate Adjustable Gimbal: Recessed RA406930WHR 4 Inch – Perfect Lighting Solution! by Justin Woolley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent results and information not given to you in the description.

Installs very quickly into an existing 4" halo downlight and the result is excellent. I swapped out 4 cans of halogen bulbs in 5 minutes while waiting for my wife to do her makeup hung up and I showered too! She was very surprised with the result. After all, it's all about the light. Halogen bulbs have an annoying habit of getting dimmer and yellower with age. I replaced four lightbulbs before they died. I had didn't expect these new LED bulbs to be even brighter than brand new halogen bulbs, they are. This is mainly because HALO cylinders designed for direct contact with insulation (IC models) with tilted bulbs, a bulb lower wattage (45W max) These replacement HALO LEDs run much cooler and can be brighter than halogen LEDs I can bem the difference in heat recognize when I'm under it. Tilt adjustment is also improved compared to the halogen light so the fact that the cans were a bit close to the wall when using the halogen lights was solved by these LED lights with great results. .In the process of installation, there is a little painful step. Usually it is obvious: switch off the light, let it cool down, remove the old screen, bulb and old tilt bracket, screw in the new converter cable, attach the grounding cable to the socket, connect the power cable, push the cable and the new light into the glass, paying attention to the direction of rotation so that the light is directed correctly. Switch on the light. The painful step is connecting the ground wire. In the guide there are several options depending on the model of glass you have. For me, with the IC jar, the only method that works is to use the sheet metal screw provided to secure the tab at the end of the ground wire in the jar. To do this I had to drill a 3/32" hole in the side wall of the can as deep as the drill bit (and screwdriver) will allow, about 1 1/2" up. new light. The kit also includes a bolt and nut (fitted to the lug at the end of the ground wire) that must be removed before any installation work. The 13 cans I reinstalled the LED lights in all had these bolts very strong . So I used the following tools: Cordless drill 3/32" HSS twist drill (for drilling the hole) Phillips screwdriver (for removing the screw installed in the grounding lug) Socket wrench (for holding the nut while loosening and installing the self-tapping screw) And my hand. I mention the last one as a little warning. The glass has sharp edges at the top and you can make small cuts on your fingers. The same can go for the old trim and tilt device. If you have sensitive hands I would recommend any kind of gloves rubber gloves will also protect your hands from heat when the old jig is on if you decide to replace it.One more note: these are tilt jigs, not a gimbal. The gimbals have two hinged rings so something that Mounted inside, can tip in any direction. They only lean in two directions, directly opposite. Be careful when inserting a new grip ing in the glass to ensure that the bevel is pointing in the right direction. The spring barbs that hold the mount in the glass don't move very easily.
