Easy upgrade if you can keep the can you have. My transformer went out on a couple of wire box bulbs and I was able to plug those bulbs straight in. ez and install effectively, just have to wait and see if they hold up as well as I think they will.

I work for a lighting designer who puts them in million dollar houses because the quality is so damn good. Sure, they're not as good as products priced between $100 and $600 (yes, such lights exist), but they're good enough that they can be in the same house without giving the impression that you're buying decided cheaply . Sturdy and well built. I had no buzz and it worked with a standard dimmer. Update: I have a buzz in these devices on one circuit but not the other. I swapped devices from one to another to double check and the device that wasn't buzzing started buzzing when I moved it to a different circuit and the one that was buzzing stopped buzzing. Installed 3 of these Halo LED downlights on a single circuit controlled by a Lutron Diva dimmer switch. At all light levels, these LEDs emitted an audible buzz. I went to the Halo website and checked the recommended dimmers. The installed Lutron Diva dimmer was the recommended dimmer, as was the Lutron Maestro, so I replaced the Diva dimmer with a Lutron Maestro dimmer. Without change. The price of these things is intimidating. Installs very quickly into an existing 4" halo downlight and the result is excellent. I swapped out 4 cans of halogen bulbs in 5 minutes while waiting for my wife to do her makeup hung up and I showered too! She was very surprised with the result. After all, it's all about the light.
