I am a costume designer, which means I often cut different fabrics and patterns. First I bought them as really good paper scissors, but when I got them I realized that they are too big and too good for paper. I now use them for cutting light to heavy fabrics - even cutting flat seams on heavy jeans. From time to time, the blades lose tension and start chewing on the fabric, but this is resolved with a simple tightening of the screw on the handle. It is very easy to tighten with your fingers, no additional tools are required. I'm so glad I bought them and they are without a doubt my favorite pair of scissors. I use them every day before my ginger.
