I have a four stage Hydrotech reverse osmosis system but the water pressure in my house is low at 40-50psi so the amount of reverse osmosis water was pitifully low - maybe a half gallon a night? To solve this problem I bought this kit. For the most part, installation was easy. The only bottleneck was removing the 1/4"-3/8" quick connect adapters from the pressure switch as my RO has a 3/8" connection. Holding the collet while pulling the adapter was a very painful process as the Collet tends The seller only needs to supply the adapters separately without installing them on the pressure switch first.Prior to installing I drained all the water from the line and storage tank to see how much less time it would take to clean the tank to fill completely.It took 5 hours to fill a 3.2 gallon tank at 80psi.I really don't understand why any of the other reviews say 20 minutes to fill - maybe the tank wasn't empty before the pump turned on. I purchased a pressure gauge separately so I can see how much water pressure is being applied to my reverse osmosis. The pump was over 100psi when it was first set up. Quick disconnects may leak at over 90psi r, so you'd better set the pressure lower. There is an adjustment screw on the front of the pump that allows you to adjust the pressure of the pump. I set it to 80psi. After the tank was completely filled, the pump stopped with the pressure switch turned on. After dispensing 3/4 gallons of water, the pump resumed operation. This is a great sign that this is a continuous replenishment process. The noise was tolerable but not at a quiet level. The pump's vibration also caused nearby plumbing fixtures to rattle. Another important factor is improving TDS. Before the filter, tap water has 450 ppm. After reverse osmosis without a pump it was 26-32 ppm. Now it's 11ppm with the pump. Good improvement!
