We started using it on our rabbits, now we have 5 rex rabbits living in my daughter's room. Rabbits are housetrained and we've tried many different things for stuffing (paper bedding, pine shavings, a combination of both) but we've had to keep changing their crates to get rid of the smell. This stuff makes a HUGE difference in smell. When they pee they turn into sawdust, you basically just rake in their boxes like you would a cat box. Sweep out the clumps of sawdust and their droppings and the tray is ready to go, we add fresh wood pellets to it every few days. Our rabbits tried wood pellets but found they weren't as fun to eat. Takes up much less space in a trash bag when cleaning than paper litter or pine shavings. You can find 25 pound bags at a better price on some pet websites.
