Auto focus died after 9 months of light use

I've taken some really incredible photos with this lens on my Panasonic G85 and G9 cameras over the course of 9 months including the birth of our first child. Physical size was a big advantage. The focal length is very comfortable and the f1.7 aperture is nothing short of a star for creating creamy bokeh in low light. Up until a few days ago while on holiday we took it out of its case and realized it wasn't going to be eye catching. Neither autofocus nor manual focus work (MF motorized "by wire"). The lens has not been mishandled to damage it. Unfortunately it was a very inconvenient time as it was our first beach trip with a baby and we didn't have any other lenses with us. ) and never seen such a crash so quickly. Contact Panasonic for possible repair, we will update review if/when issue is resolved.
