Review on MikroTik RB941-2nD RouterBoard hAP Lite: Affordable 2.4GHz Home Access Point by Micha Ambroziak ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Exactly what I needed, it's a great buy, I recommend it.

Immediately I say that the router I have is a model of a vertical arrangement Tc Provider Beeline IPOE Tariff 100 Mbps The cable speed of the router keeps 90-95 Mbps It doesn’t heat up at all, the power supply doesn’t make noise, it doesn’t heat up either. The Internet connection was automatically configured, but this is due to the fact that IPOE. If you have a different connection, then you may already have to break your head here, since there are a lot of settings. Now the most important thing is about the cons. I have a 3-room apartment, the router is in the room. The speed over Wi-Fi nearby for reception was 15-20 Mbps, it no longer rose, and the speed for uploading was 20-40 Mbps. Whatever settings I didn’t twist, the signal increased to the maximum, and I watched vidos and read forums and articles, I couldn’t survive anymore. On the return of the norms, but on the reception is not very. Maybe my air is clogged with other routers and they interfere, but on the forum someone also checked the speed and he had a similar one on wi-fi. Now about range. In the other two rooms, the Wi-Fi signal drops out. That is, a little further away in the room, and that's it, and the cliff goes. One could say "well, the router is too far away, there is a lot of interference", yes, that's right, but the trick is that I have an Asus wl520 GC router before it, which has been working for at least 6 years. Here it gives a speed close to 25 Mbps for reception and 25 Mbps for return. In the same conditions, he copes with the range perfectly. The signal catches throughout the apartment in the farthest corners. I decided to change it because the router does not give out more than 40 Mbps over the cable. As a result, I returned it to the store and put my good old asus. My conclusion: if you are going to take this router for three and the location will not be in the center of the apartment, but in one of the rooms, then I would not advise. Also consider the moment about the speed over Wi-Fi, do not expect sky-high indicators there. As for the signal range, I think that the transmitter power is not weak, but perhaps due to the lack of external antennas, this happens. That is, the antenna focuses the signal in a horizontal plane and then beats wi-fi

Pros
  • Cable speed, no heat, power supply does not beep, low price. Read the comment below for details.
Cons
  • Wi-Fi range, Wi-Fi reception speed
