I bought a used 1999 Eddie Bauer Ford Expedition and it came with some non-original wheels with the EB logo on the center cap so I'm guessing they were Ford. I drove for years thinking everything was fine and if I ever had an apartment it would be fine to leave quickly and as I live in a very rural area I'm ashamed I don't check things more have. When I bought the car I found the jack was missing and a trip to the junkyard quickly solved the problem. I lost a brake pad last month so I decided to replace all four brake pads. I tried to unscrew the nuts with a domestic wrench, but it did not help. The ring nuts are countersunk and I had to use a 3/4" deep socket and a broken rod to remove the front. The socket is in the back and the wrench I used for the front doesn't fit so I had to 11 / take a 16" outlet. Everything was taken care of and I bought some deep spark plug boots that can use a T wrench on the end. I'm done... so I thought. I bought new tires for my Chevy truck and spoke to a tire changer because we both had the same Expedition type with style wheels and he asked if I had nuts for the spare... tell me what! My replacement was on the original rim, OEM nuts were required as the taper prevents the rim from fitting snugly against the drum and you don't get very far before you start chipping them off. So I ordered them, but though there are 5 inches The picture, I only got 1 so it was about $13 for 1 nut. I complained and got the other 4 but don't believe anything you read on this page...if you ask ant 5 how much he will send you make a purchase. Good nuts that fit so they get 5 stars.
