I bought a new gaming laptop that got good reviews but tends to "get a little warm" based on user reviews. I don't game, but I liked the idea of extra graphics memory because I tend to have multiple windows open at the same time. What better way to keep temperatures down than using a fan underneath a laptop. I was planning on getting a fan for the laptop that the laptop runs on, but settled on a stand that would have enough room underneath to install the small fan I already have. In addition, the stand provides space at the bottom to store keyboard, mouse and other items when needed. The stand has enough space for a fan at the bottom to ensure good airflow. The stand feels solid enough to support the weight of a laptop with a screen up to 17 inches (diagonal). My laptop is 15.4 in size and it perfectly matches the stand's design parameters. The aluminum stand was easy to assemble and felt solid enough to easily support a large laptop if no extra weight was added to the laptop's weight. Before assembling it, I determined which vents would least restrict airflow to the fans on the bottom of the laptop. The ends of the stand's "arms" are slightly curved, and rubber bumpers are attached to the top of the arms. These two features are more than enough to keep the laptop from sliding off the stand. Aluminum is known to help dissipate heat. But as for the stand dissipating heat away from MY laptop, I don't know how that would be possible if there isn't a direct contact of a laptop component that generates heat with any point on the stand. As far as I can tell, this is just a selling point.
