I'm not a cyclist so I used to have a dumb Elite Qubo Fluid+ trainer, I used it with Zwift by putting a speed and cadence sensor on my route connected have 7.5 fx. I didn't care about the "virtual" uphill effect, which just made my avatar slower when I cycled faster. FTP with speed and cadence sensors just didn't register what I was able to. Finally found something within my budget that gives me the "feel" of the hills in Zwift and I love it so much. I know the strength difference is 5-10% but as a beginner I'm fine with it. My legs feel very different than the "real" effort I put into climbing a mountain because Zwift is able to add resistance to my smart trainer to make it harder. I am new to cycling and will probably never be able to afford some of these high end shoes. So if you're looking for something that fits your budget, I highly recommend this trainer.
