Good camera, but some functions don't work

The camera is well packaged and protected against transport damage. The package contains a charging box, micro USB, mounting material, mounting bracket, LAN cable, documents and a camera. Easy to connect to the app and WiFi (although this is the first time I've had an issue which I'll explain in the section below) - There's a LAN port as well as a micro SD card slot - the camera makes a bit of noise on Using the pan and tilt function, which I can also hear from 2 feet away. The camera has auto tracking, but it works inefficiently. There's a privacy mode which, when activated, points the camera downwards so nothing is recorded. When you disable privacy mode, the camera will no longer point in the same direction as before. How to use: - I have the Amcrest Smart Home app but I couldn't add the camera to that app and had to install Amcrest View Pro after which I was able to add the device (this is lame though). When you add a device, you can scan the barcode on the bottom of the camera and it will recognize the device, which is convenient, and go to the add device wizard. In the setup menu, you must be in 2.4G WiFi or the WiFi setup will fail (you can choose between Ethernet and WiFi setup after scanning the device). During Wi-Fi setup, I entered the camera's username, administrator account password, and Wi-Fi network password. I received a notification that a camera was added, but live view failed because the system complained that it couldn't connect. Upon further debugging, it appeared that the username and password didn't match, but the system doesn't tell you if it's an admin account issue or a Wi-Fi issue. I restarted the device and added the camera again - but this time I didn't change the admin password (do not change the admin password) - the camera is added and you can go to LiveView. In this case, the app will ask you to change the camera password. When I did this, the camera password was changed and I was able to check the live feed from the camera. The app's features are decent and you can tweak the soe options. The app also offers a wizard to help you configure the app settings to control the camera. The pan and tilt screen is not smooth and the camera pans and tilts very quickly. landscape

Cons
  • Everything is fine
