Although they work out of the box, my main goal was to use them to monitor my home's power consumption without relying on cloud services. They're easy to disassemble, flash with Tasmota firmware, and reassemble. You need an FTDI adapter. Underneath the covers, the build quality is good with no visible bad solder joints (on the four I've upgraded so far). It's not clear if they can handle long periods at near full rated load, but they do detail different performance statistics. At $10 each this is a good buy.
