So far, so good. Looks like the photo. A little more than I expected, but it's on me. I measure the width maybe 1/16 inch wider than described from flat side to side, but that's not much. I've attached some visual comparison photos. A standard salt canister is located to the left of the salt shaker. On the right side of the basement are a wide mouth 1 cup Mason jar, a 1 cup Pyrex bowl and a standard 1 cup Mason jar. I think my last basement had half the space so I'm not used to the weight. I have seen comments that the white on the items in this set is not white but is more greyish. It's worth noting that the white color is actually on the gray side. It looks more like a thin layer of whitewash on ceramic than white porcelain.
