These are my very first wooden spoons. Now i'm not talking about the big spoons our moms use for cooking, I mean i bought this for individual use when i'm eat rice, soup etc. So when my package came and I took them out the box I quickly ran back to amazon to read the seller's description.Just what the seller mentioned, is what you're going to get.-lightweight-natural plant oil glaze-9.8 x 5.6 x 1.4 inches-long handleBut when I felt this in my hand I was really surprised how light this was. This Is wood but very light, almost like plastic, so that's why I ran to read the seller's description again because I'm so used to "mama's solid sturdy cooking spoon” . We only have description and photos to go off of, when it's in our possession it's a different story.From reading the reviews I learned…Dont leave in water because wood is porousThe handle is long and slender (guys don't go digging in the toughest pot it may snap in two)You can cook with this but I wouldn't because these spoons are too delicate in my opinion (I would use a more sturdy spoon for that) (use this more for putting delicious food to your mouth, spooning out jam etc…I was going to give this 3 stars just because I didn't want such a lightweight spoon. But I have to be fair, ADLORYEA described this to the tea.I'll be back with an update to see how long these last me.
