Review on Valena 10 0705 Toklat Hind Boot by Dawn Williams

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nicely made and wool pile is better than synthetic

They're pretty cute. They protect well and hold up well too, I've been using a pair for 9 months to train my riding dressage mare and although the pile has firmed up a bit it's not as dramatic as I see with synthetic fleece. The shell is more flexible than other cheaper boots I've bought and hasn't shown any signs of breaking yet, although my mare isn't as picky about her boots as my gelding and I haven't tried them on him. The elastic is a little more elastic than we'd like, allowing part of the tongue to extend past the matching Velcro. I like that the hook surface is on the tongue and the loop is on the boot so the exposed areas don't attract dirt, although the fit didn't expose the velcro in my case. Maybe I should have gone for a small instead of a medium since it's only 15.3, but I like the higher protection.
