I looked at probably a hundred printers before deciding on the Brother HLL5100DN. I needed something that could handle large withdrawals without burning a hole in my wallet. Most laser printers seem like a lot then look at the cost of the toner. For most of the printers I researched, I also checked the cost of the toner. Few printers stand out from the crowd when it comes to toner consumption and cost - the Brother HLL5100DN is one of them. Another brand of 8,000-page toner is available for this printer for just $20. I couldn't find a better value for money printer in this price range, so I bought this one. A few notes about this printer in order: 1. This is not a Wi-Fi printer. You need to connect it using a printer cable (to USB) or an Ethernet cable. You MUST have one attached for the printer to work.2. It is monochrome (prints with black ink only). If you need color printing, this is not for you.3. This is not a scanner. It's just a printer.4. It works with Google CloudPrint when connected to the computer in the manner described above. Installation takes about 15 minutes (including unzipping and driver download).6. Works on PC and Mac. I installed it on both. Overall, this product is the best black and white printer for the price. This will give you tons of prints at a low cost. It's pretty basic, but great in certain contexts. I recommend this to anyone in the market for this type of printer!
