A family member recently experienced a power surge that quickly destroyed all equipment not connected to the surge protector. After seeing all the damage this caused, I reminded myself that of course my computer has its own uninterruptible power supply and my TV and cinema are protected by quality surge protectors, but devices like my very expensive phone and tablet are subsceptible. I have this as a dock and charging station that I either leave on my nightstand or on the edge of my bed when using my devices while they charge. The build quality seems very solid and I know this will be one of the items I will carry with me for a number of years. I use my tablet as an alarm clock with the Gentle Alarm app, it makes it a lot easier to read at night and keeps it in place while I "solve the riddle" to turn off the alarm in the morning. I couldn't be happier with this product and would recommend it to my friends.
