Due to severe skin allergies it is very important that I always have a supply of this castile soap. Every other product on the market causes burns, blisters aka Acute Contact Dermatitis etc due to the chemicals it contains. Here in the US, all foods contain harmful fillers and flavorings. It is very sad that you have to go to France for safe soap. Thank goodness this old French soap recipe and method still exists. Thank goodness for the Marseille soap makers. Over time I realized that this soap is a powerhouse. First, it's safe for people like me and great for reducing the body's toxic load. I won't order anything but a block of green olive oil. Nothing more. No palm oil block, no shea butter. No, thanks to fillers, fragrances. There is also little waste. Not a lot of junk. I wish it wasn't wrapped in plastic as this soap needs to be aired out anyway. Air the soap blocks when they arrive. They need to air and harden. If you do this, they will last longer. Also, get a small wooden soap dish or plate. If the soap gets on the surface with water, it will dissolve. Your soap needs to dry between uses. This will take longer. I use it for everything: laundry, washing the dishes, washing my hair (yes! Crazy, isn't it?), cleaning the house. That's a great degreaser, says the machinist in the house. Instantly removes coffee ring stains from coffee cups. I can tell this is a real castile soap by its not so loved "petro" smell. Reminds me of the smell of new tires. i really love it No fragrance means no harm to my skin. Perfume is a known allergen. My only complaint is that this soap isn't always available when I need it. I've hopped from supplier to supplier so I buy as much as I can afford when I see it in stock.
