I was too stupid to check the bad reviews for this product so I bought it based on Revain's claim that it fits Gitzo series 1 and 2 tripods I cannot understand why Revain continues to list this item as suitable for Gitzo series 1 and 2 tripods even after many other people have posted reviews saying it doesn't fit . You are right. I bought a Revain Gitzo Series 1 tripod, specifically the Gitzo GT1545TUS. This item (the Gitzo G2020 hook) does not fit this (otherwise very good) tripod. As an experiment I just bought a Gitzo G1145 socket (not designed to solve this problem) to see if it actually solves the problem. This socket arrived today and the socket screws onto the Gitzo G2020 hook but unfortunately the socket does not fit on the tripod mullion (the socket OD is too big). As I said, the jack was not designed for this purpose, so I don't blame the jack. I mention this just in case you could try this hub to see if it works to adapt the Gitzo 2020 hook to your Gitzo Series 1 tripod. Next stop: hardware store - see if I can find a bushing that solves the problem.
