Lots of bells and whistles for Windows 10, doesn't work with Windows 7

Using this motherboard is like using a little Lear Jet to go a mile down the road. That gets you there, but there are so many extra buttons and switches to press to make it work, it can be very intimidating. And also. It's like having a brand new dashboard full of hidden and confusing menu items set to use 2018 engines, but you have a 2014 model. They just don't see tools. Immediately, this mobo doesn't "see" any of my SATA drives. Neither HDD nor SDD. I saw a BluRay reader/writer. However, moving the disk there again is not visible. Then it will be visible, but it will not be possible to boot from it. It turns out that this mobo is set from the factory to automatically use Intel Optane memory. And if you don't see it, then nada. You have to dig around, find the right menu selection (under, under, menu) and enable it in SATA AHCI. I was finally able to get it to boot from a Windows 10 SSD, but it wouldn't boot from a Windows 7 SSD. I gave it 3 stars because it started with Windows 10. Could NOT get it to work with Windows 7! Windows will start in 3 seconds, reboot. Same thing, when I tried "safe mode", it would load the essential drivers for a few seconds, hang and reboot. I was able to boot it up and use the UEFI Windows 10 Recovery DVD. But after 4 hours with this POS I could not use the Windows "Recovery" DVD nor the Windows 7 "Installation" DVD. Actually several different DVDs. I was able to get it to boot into the DVD's home menu with a US keyboard layout selection, but at this point the USB was locked. Neither mouse nor keyboard were recognized. Changing the USB menu settings in the BIOS (UEFI) will either cause the keyboard/mouse backlight to turn off once the DVD boots OR. left the light on, but the keyboard and mouse weren't responding. The light was on, but nobody was home. It also didn't recognize my RAM, DDR4 3200. It recognized it as 2133. This could be because my CPU and Intel Core-i9700k only ran at 3.6GHz (initially). Or that I had to go into a submenu and figure out how to "overclock" it to the speed I wanted. I've never had problems like this with RAM. I buy speed, plug it in and it looks like it should be. Whether DDR2 or DDR3, 4200, 6400, 12800, 1600, etc., the mobile device automatically selects the right speed. I think if you have Windows 10 (probably Windows H8 (that's pronounced HATE) you can get this to work. It has multiple menu options for Windows 8/10 or "other OS". Changing that didn't matter. unintuitive sub-menus then this is the mobo for you Plenty of time not hours but days or weeks!
