These worked great. I didn't do this, but to move my kayak around I bought them to have room to run a strap to attach the boat to the back of my truck. So for me they have a dual purpose and work great for both uses. I wish it had come with mounting screws but I had a lot of spares. If you don't have the hardware on hand, one of these super cheap $3 homeowner nut and bolt kits from the discount store has what you need and then some.
