I installed an Equa-flex 4k-6k along with a MorRyde Wet Bolt shackle upgrade kit on my Outback 27RLS (8K GVWR) caravan. It was the right kit for my tandem axles, each weighing 5K. Now that it's done, I'm pleased with the trailer's improved ride quality, which is much better than the stock Leveler direct suspension. I installed it myself in my driveway, one side each with two stands, a bottle jack to jack up the frame for the stands, and two bottle jacks for the axles. Installation was quite a bit of work, but the hardest part was unscrewing the old nuts and bolts; This was the final screw to attach the second leaf spring to the Equa-Flex balancer arm. I used a PB blaster to soak the old nuts overnight and then used an electric impact wrench which cleaned up the rusty nuts quickly so removing the old hardware was fairly easy. Likewise, installing the new bronze bushings and new bolts was fairly easy except for the last bolt. The problem is that if you swap out a stock 13-104 EQ and keep the same yoke length, the spring lugs won't perfectly match the Equa-Flex. The instructions don't mention this, and it seems that the installation is very simple. I had to use a pry bar, a pry bar, and some blocks of wood to deflect the springs enough to insert the final bolt. align with the Equa-flex arm. I really wish the instructions were more detailed and didn't give me a chance to figure out how the install works. But in the end I did it and am happy with the end result.
