A great option if you are looking for an EIDE recorder.

I recently had to replace my Philips SPD2143 which died a rather strange untimely death. ) than the Philips drive, although both were rated at 20x magnification. It's responsive and surprisingly quiet, even at full typing speed. I would recommend this drive to anyone looking for a reasonably affordable replacement or new drive. The price is a bit higher than some of the deals you can find but you get what you pay for in terms of durability.
