I tried them on before the new version and liked them but bought new ones based on other reviews thinking they would offer more arch support (I have very flat feet and experience calf/foot pain/treatment with the most sports activities). I ended up going with the V1 as well and by comparison the V1 is less reliable in supporting my overpronation but I have less direct pain in my legs with it than with the V2. V2s are stiffer and better supported but end up hurting my feet. It's like walking on clouds and would be great to wear when standing long shifts on hard ground/concrete. I'm still not a runner but they still work great when playing tennis or working out. I would say the V2 would be better for injury prevention if I'm doing really intense exercise, but for my purposes I really prefer the V1 fit. VERY side mounted and just fits. They are actually a bit tight when I wear thicker socks.
