This is a great slotted spoon/skimmer and I would consider this my one go to really because it can fit so many needs. I can use it to skim things off the tops of liquids. And I can use it to scoop solids out of liquids as well (such as pieces of chicken or dumplings, etc). And the head area is very wide so you can up multiple things at once. Too often the product i order has a baby head such as many of these ladles out here. Since the handle is metal it gives this spoon plenty of strength when lifting. Furthermore, the head is very solid and rigid as well and not flimsy, which adds to the strength. So you dont have to worry about the head giving depending on how heavy what you are lifting is. I would highly recommend this to anyone. It would especially come in handy as a serving spoon and you are dishing out large amounts of something solid like macaroni and cheese.you have to make less scoops. Likewise if you need o transfer large amounts of something to put in a storage container or a large pan.its less scooping with this (as long as its solid of course since it has drain holes).
