I bought this to replace a broken water pump on my 2004 VW GTI 1.8t. I double checked the part numbers as well as Revain's own "This Part Fits". Tip, I took it and tried to install. Here's the good and the bad. Good - pump arrived quickly - pump works well and is as strong or stronger than the OEM pressure. Bad - The orientation of the secondary pump of this pump (towards the rear window) is reversed compared to the connector connection. compared to the OEM device. This doesn't necessarily interfere with the installation of the device, but the plug now needs to be installed in the opposite direction, which puts the clamp pointing towards the fluid reservoir, meaning you'll almost certainly have to remove it to disconnect the pump first, THEN disconnect it from the mains in case of a possible malfunction in the future. - The OEM pressure clamps that keep the fluid lines attached and sealed to the pump nozzles do not provide a tight seal on this pump. The satisfying *click* of the OEM unit gave way to a casual "hope it worked" feeling when connecting the line. SPOILER: It didn't work. In my case I've used teflon tape and zip ties to hold the lines securely in place and so far I haven't had any leaks. Conclusion - the device is cheap, it will work in a pinch, but this is not quality. Replacement of the original pump.
